PROGRAM INTRODUCTION:

The chemical engineer is required to be familiar with a variety of disciplines involved in the transportation and processing of solids, liquids and gases.  In addition to fundamentals such as mass and energy balances, chemistry and thermodynamics, and fluid static’s and dynamics, other areas include separation processes, process equipment design and operations, process flow synthesis and analysis, economics and process control, among others.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

This workshop is designed to provide the attendee with a general understanding of the fundamentals as well as practical elements involved in the field of chemical engineering.  As a non-chemical engineer working alongside chemical engineers, this workshop will allow you to:

  • Interact more effectively with your colleagues, having gained a meaningful understanding of the principles of the field.

  • Become familiar with principles of chemical and physical processes including basic chemistry and thermodynamics.

  • Understand key processes involved in the transportation of gases, liquids, and solids.
Grasp concepts involved major processes such as distillation, absorption, reactions and reactor design.

  • Understand major tools such as mass and energy balances, flow sheets and block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams.
