PROGRAM INTRODUCTION:

Increased efficiency in managing environmental obligations, enhanced relations with outside stakeholders, and cost savings – these are but a few of the benefits possible through implementation of voluntary environmental management systems (EMSs). The most prominent standard for the development of EMSs is ISO 14001, established by the International Organization for Standardization. In its first EMS project, SAIC helped a large telecommunications company pass a certification audit by Lloyd's Registrar. The 17-member SAIC team conducted this effort within an exacting schedule of 5 weeks. This project set the stage for ongoing expansion of SAIC services in environmental management systems.
