PROGRAM INTRODUCTION:

The objective of this course is to make the attendants familiar with the architecture, hardware components, and Simatic Manager Software of the Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Therefore this course introduces the basic construction and the main components of the PLC system such as Input/Output modules, communication interface cards, and main central Processing Units CPUs will be covered in details. Siemens PLC system (SIMATIC S7) the S7 300 series will be explained. The features of those programmable controllers will be also covered. Furthermore, this course presents the different applications of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in process control, specially the sequential controls.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the training, delegates should be able to:

  • Perform wiring and identify addressing of analog input and output signals

  • Understand and implement Scaling concept of handle analog I/O signals

  • Develop and test ladder logic programs to handle analog I/O signals

  • Utilize software tools to troubleshoot problems in PLC systems

  • Troubleshoot PLC Systems using built-in diagnostic features

  • Understand & identify PLC operation & interconnection within automation network
